“These still life images serve as a daily reminder that my days are
awash in chaos, whimsy, laughter and laundry (sometimes all at once).
They capture toys and spills and puddles and piles. Sentimental,
solitary moments of childhood ephemera. A gentle prodding to live in the
now and stop looking toward the “then.” And though sometimes I pray for
clean and quiet and still, I know all too well it will come. And I will
yearn for tiny shrieks of laughter in my bedroom. For toys and loveys
strewn about. For signs of a daily life well lived. For traces of my
babies who once were. For reminders that Kids Were Here–and they were
life and light and love.”

I also love that quote you posted. I included it in my first KWH post and part of it in my post for this month too :) You did a great job capturing details left behind that kids were here! LOVE the car in the dressy sparkle shoes! :) Tracey
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I have been thinking about starting a blog that just used pictures to tell our life story. Now I'm motivated to actually do it.
ReplyDeleteOh Missy. I love the leftover food mess - focusing on the partially eaten apple. (Do they ever finish a full one??) The glitter shoes with the car inside them just screams Mack. I am so happy to have you as part of this circle!
ReplyDeleteMissy this is a great post. The half eaten apple is so true with kids. And the car in the shoe I think that one will happen to me soon.
ReplyDeleteYour house is always so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a great detail - a car within high heels!
