My dad is the hardest working man I know. Rarely does he call in sick to work and nothing keeps him down. This group of shots taken of  him in the hospital after an ER visit this week brings tears to my eyes. It's full of contrast, from the lighting to the him lacing up his work books with the hospital bracelet on his wrist. This is why I love photography. Photos that preserve emotion even when the emotions are tough. This is a cell phone capture.

My Kids were Here - October

Spills abound in our house, until , of course, this months Kids Were Here theme is "spill" . Suddenly, I've nothing to photograph!  But I searched around a bit and got creative.  I spied Mason playing in his sensory table, filling cups with rice and flax- pouring it from one cup to the other. This will gave to suffice . I'm certain now that I've written this month's blog post, the usual spills will resume. Please be sure to follow our blog circle around, starting with Andrea

Project 365- Week 3

We spent a lot of time outside this week as the temps were well above average. I have been working on capturing the filtered light from the beautifully fluorescent  trees and am always hoping to improve in low light settings. I'm still a far stretch away from where I'd like to be in that aspect but am happy with my filtered light this week. Once you've checked out my week in photos, please follow the circle around to the wonderfully talented, Pam!

Project 365 - Week 1

Because I can't say no to another blog circle, the chance to mingle with other photographers and improve on skills, I have accepted a new challenge. The 365 blog circle is just what it sounds- we challenge ourselves to snap one photo every day. The photo can be of any thing or anyone and there are no rules. This was a bit of a hectic week but I was able to catch some moments that really hold so much meaning for me. After viewing my photos, please follow the circle around to Jennifer.
Oct 1- This red handkerchief is a trade mark for my grandpa.
Even as a little girl, I remember always seeing it poking out of his Wrangler jeans.
Oct 2- Mason , lost in thought

Oct 3- Sunset shots are something my dad and I share a love of. As I took this photo, he stood next to me on my parent's back porch, taking photos of the same sunset.
Oct 4- What's left of summer.
October 5th- Lego Sunday, pants optional
